| First time catching a fish 08/10/2009 |
| On our annual Keys vacation I caught my first fish on my very own fishing pole. It was a snapper! Now, instead of saying I want to go fishing, I say I want to go snappering.

| I didn't catch anything, but I sure had fun trying. Mom and Dad bought me a little superman fishing pole. Grandpa met us at the lake with earthworms (he dug up in his yard) and bread for bait. I am really good at casting the pole already. Can't wait to catch my first fish.....maybe on our annual keys trip this year.

| He says "I have a special idea". When we ask him what it is he mumbles something that sounds along the lines of "I like butter". We can't quite figure that one out yet!
He says "What's the big nidea" instead of idea.
He says Gissed for Fixed. "Oh good, you gissed it!!"
He likes to play with the new Wii we all got for Christmas
He says "Thank you sooooooo much"
Oh yes, and he likes to rap and beat box. His dad taught him "My name is Tyler and I like chocolate, chica chica chooooooow". Ty likes to mix it up and fill in the blank for chocolate.

| Ty's first Dr. visit without protest or tears! 10/10/2008 |
| I took Ty for his flu shot today and he did great! He let the doc check out his heartbeat and his incoming teeth. Not only did he not cry, he actually smiled at her and was super cooperative!! He took his shot like a pro, cried for about 2 seconds, and then was ready for his lollipop. Good boy!!!

| He loves to look and listen for "helper guys" (fire trucks, police, ambulance). When we are driving around town he wants us to put the car windows down to look for them. He'll say "look closely".
His favorite phrase lately is "oh my goodness". He says it quite often and always in the right context!
He is obsessed with the car wash. Even though Jamie took him through one several weeks ago and he hated it, he loves to watch himself on video going through it. He always asks to watch it, or if we are driving around he wants to go in it and gets quite upset when we don't oblige

| Tyler has learned that different people use different terms of affection when talking to him. So, as he talks to my mom, he uses her term and says Hi/Bye Sweetheart. As he talks to me, he says Hi Sweet Pea, and as he talks to Jamie he says Hi Buddy.

| Ty's first real swimming lesson 05/05/2008 |
| We have a swim teacher coming out to my parents house 5 days a week, for two weeks, to teach Ty to swim. This is way different than the swimming lessons at 6mths old, where we were in the water with him. This is Tyler and Vicki (his teacher) alone my parents pool, with parents and grandparents peeking out from behind the curtains of course!

| Over the last few weeks Tyler's bottom cuspids (canines) have been pushing their way through. Now the top cuspids are starting to poke through! Only thing left now are the second molars.

| Tyler pee-peed on the potty! 04/15/2008 |
| Tyler has gone on the potty a few times, as we were getting him undressed for a bath---but it has always been by our prompting or just by pure coincidence. Tonight, as I had him bundled up in a towel after his bath, he kept pointing to the potty, saying POTTY, POTTY! So I stood him in front of the potty (he refuses to sit), he concentrated really hard for about 30 seconds, then he went. YEAH!!!!

We ditched the binky! We switched it out with a new one that Tyler didn't like, so when we would give him the new one he would put it in his mouth, wait for a second, then pop it back out, say yucky and hand it back to us. This way, it was on his terms, it wasn't us forcing the change on him. Worked like a charm!

| We always walk him through couting to 10, but lately he has been doing it on his own. Out of the blue he will just start counting. It's pretty neat, and funny how he pronounces some of the numbers.......one, two, tee, four, bive, sixes, sebe, eit, niiii, ten. Then at the end he yells YEAH and claps.

| Tyler loves this song!! He tries to sing in on his own and it goes something like this........Twinkle Twinkle....esss...how I.....ess...papapa (for up above)....esss...high. I am trying to get it on video, it is just so darn cute! He has also become obsessed with the Hip Hop version of the electric slide and he tries to do the dance along with me.

I took my first plane ride up to see our friends in Minnesota. I really liked taking off and landing---it was fun to watch out the window. Aunt Marge and Uncle Bill gave us a portable DVD player for Christmas, which Mom and Dad said was a lifesaver on the plane! On the flight up, I didn't understand that I couldn't get down and run around, so I kept asking "DOWN!", on the way back though, I just sat and chilled, napped, watched a movie and ate. It was a fun adventure (except for all those airplane germs that got us all sick!)

Tyler loves to do the Hokey Pokey, Ring around the Rosey, and act out the Itsy Bitsy Spider. Whenever there is music on he can't help but let the beat take over, and before long he is dancing and bouncing around (even in his high chair).

We took Tyler to Kid's Clips for his first official hair cut. He cried the entire time. Luckily they are quick, and it only took a few minutes. Next time, I think we will attempt it ourselves................

| He didn't seem to mind it at all. We were able to do a brushing motion, but mostly he wants to suck on the toothbrush!

| Today Tyler signed to Jamie for "help". When Jamie asked him "help with what?" Tyler slapped the couch. SO, like the good dad he is, he helped him onto the couch. Tyler then used the new little boy couch he got for his birthday as a stepping stool to get down. Quickly realizing that if he could use it to get down, he could use it to get back up, there he was climbing on to the couch on his own. Uh-oh, we're in trouble now I suspect! The climbing has begun!

| So far Tyler will sign for milk, more, diaper change, eat, help, and bath. He is really picking it up quickly now and it's so great when he looks at you and signs for something he wants. His favorite is more, especially when he is eating something he loves, or if we are playing a fun game he really likes.

Right now Tyler can't get enough pancakes (without the syrup of course). He loves them and before he is even done with what's in his mouth he is signing for more. He also really likes chopped up bananas. When he really likes something he says Mmmmmmmm, mmmmmmmmm after each and every bite!

He is pretty close to saying Uh-oh, Help and his own version of Turtle (tete)

After many months of almost clapping (i.e. waving hands around wildly and sometimes making contact), Tyler finally put it all together and is clapping for real. He is so excited by his new skill that he squeals with delight and cracks himself up while he claps.
