Uncle Pete's new house posted on 11/03/2009
Well we spent a great weekend with Uncle Pete in his new house in Lafayette. It is a beautiful house. The neighborhood is fantastic. Olivia went trick or treating with Daddy and Uncle Peter. We will get pictures up soon, maybe tonight. It seems like time is flying by. Carter will be 5 months old next Friday. He is really developing quite the personality.
Olivia is really a stinker. She is so active and talkative now. She repeats-or tries to repeat-everything you say. She is into everything. Last night she decided to play with the lamp in the living room. Let's just say Daddy had to rewire it and we are lucky the television wasn't broken.

Pictures!!! posted on 09/08/2009
Well we are back to work and daycare this morning. I am so nervous I can't even eat my cereal. I have been up since 3:30 both because of nerves and because Carter ate at that time. I ran and showered and got things together before the troops wake up.
We had a fun weekend together. We went to our friends' home in Milford, the Beaubiens. Jim started as an amateur photographer and has now formed quite a talent. He has a studio setup in the basement and took some picutes of the kids. We couldn't seem to get one of them together as Olivia was more interested in all the toys they had that she had never played with than getting her picture taken. She was also having a bad hair day. So we will try again in a couple months to get a pic for our Christmas card. THe pictures are beautiful though. I am slightly biased of course as I believe my children are the most beautiful ever.
WELL i AM GOING TO TRY AND LIE DOWN FOR AWHILE. WE SHALL SEE IF THAT HAPPENS

TWO DOCTOR VISIT posted on 08/13/2009
Today was Carter's two month visit and Olivia's two year. Carter got three immunizations as well as an oral immunization. Olivia got two. Olivia was so brave. She didn't cry at all so it was a cookie from the bakery (which they gave her for free) and Tigger movie for her. Carter was not so happy. They are both growing beautifully.

Olivia is two posted on 08/10/2009
We had a great weekend. We had our friends the Beuabiens over on Saturday. Both of their children are close in age to our two so it is alot of fun and a handful. Olivia turned two yesterday and was quite spoiled. Michael is going toupload the video we took of present opening. Carter slept the longest time in his bed last night...5 hours at one time. Yipee. He has been snoozing all morning.
We are going to the royal oak kids art studio with our friends Emily and Eleanor at 11 am today so I suppose we should sign off. I will take pictures and upload those asap.

Carter James Dresden is here!!!! posted on 06/15/2009
Carter James Dresden was born at 4:25pm 6/13 at RoyaL Oak Beaumont Hospital after about 7 hours of total labor. I went for my usual walk that morning and started having contractions around 9am. Michael went to get a haircut and pick up his new suit. When he arrived home about noon, I felt it was probably time to go in. We got Olivia situated at our wonderful neighbor's and got the car all packed up. We got to the hospital about 1pm. After what felt like an eternity we were taken back to triage. At this point I was 3 cm dilated however Carter was very low. In fact the nurse in triage thought for sure I was much more dilated until she checked. My ob then decided to admit me and break my water. At around 2:45 we went into the delivery room where we awaited our nurse. I was having some pretty serious contractions at this point. I sent a famished Michael to get himself some lunch after my doctor broke my water. Soon there after the contractions were quite strong. They checked and I was at 6cm, 90% effaced. I decided I would like an epidural. They got this going, but I felt no relief from the contractions and began to feel something different. My ob was in the middle of a csection so they called in the attending to deliver as they knew by Carter's position I would not be pushing long. Five minutes after the epidural was administered, it was time to push. I pushed about 10 minutes and out came a beautiful 6 pound 14 ounce Carter. He was 20 inches long and immediately peed on the nurse.
What a different experience this was from Olivia's delivery. I feel nearly recovered already and so much less yucky. I actually was able to get some sleep and can't say enough about how much more I enjoyed this experience than the csection delivery experience. Carter has been home about an hour and a half now and has been sleeping the entire time. He came home at 6 pounds, 10.5 ounces and is nursing pretty well so far.
