Another dr appointment tomorrow. We're now at 25 weeks! Things are going pretty good. I'm still trying to deal with this cold that just wont go away, but i'm managing. Ethan sure is getting big. (i just posted new belly pics) He seems to be growing more and more every day. He's kicking more and stronger every day too. I was having fun last night. I kept poking my finger into my belly, and he'd kick really hard right where i was pushing. Nate did it a few times too, and Ethan kicked him each time as well, which was cool, because for some reason, ethan doesnt seem to want to let his daddy feel him kick or move very often. Gosh i love this little baby!

13 Weeks posted on 09/05/2007
Well, I've seemed to miss a few weeks on here. I'm now 13 weeks pregnant Week 13 Your Baby's Development It's still fairly early in your pregnancy, but Baby is already capable of quite a lot! If you poke your stomach gently with your finger, she may begin to turn her head toward you; some experts think this may be the beginning of the rooting reflex (looking for a nipple). By now she can put a thumb in her mouth, although her sucking muscles aren't completely developed yet. And female infants have already accumulated about two million eggs in their ovaries, although this number will naturally drop to one million at birth. Your baby's head growth has slowed down; this week, her head makes up about half her body length. By week 21, her head will be about a third the size of her body, and by birth it will only be about a fourth. The fetus, which is now about three inches long and a little more than an ounce in weight, would now fit into your cupped hands. Here's what else you can expect this week: - Tiny ribs will be developing.
- Vocal cords will begin forming.
- Baby's eyelids will fuse together to protect her delicate eyes.
- Tissues and organs will continue to mature.
- Bone marrow, liver and spleen will be able to produce blood cells now.
- Fingerprints are beginning to form.
Your Development Welcome to the second trimester, when most women begin to feel much more comfortable than they did in their earlier stages of pregnancy. The side effects of early pregnancy (frequent urination, fatigue, nausea, dizziness) lessen during the second trimester. Your uterus is still small enough so that you can easily go about your daily activities. At 13 weeks, the uterus starts growing upward into the abdomen, and you may feel some abdominal achiness as the ligaments supporting the uterus stretch. Up until now you may not have gained much weight, but as your baby starts growing rapidly, you’ll see your weight increase respectively. Even though birth is still months away, your breasts may already have started to make colostrum, the nutrient-rich fluid that will feed Baby for the first few days after birth. As the breasts enlarge, you may notice veins appearing under the skin and the areola enlarging and turning brown. Experts think this darker color around the nipple may be a visual cue for the breastfeeding baby. You may also start to see the first signs of stretch marks on your abdomen, breasts, hips, or buttocks. (Since stretch marks are partly genetic, you may be able to predict ahead of time whether you'll experience them or not.) By applying moisturizing creams, you can make your skin more elastic and can help reduce the itchiness that accompanies the development of stretch marks. Creams may also help reduce the severity of the marks, although it's difficult to prevent them from occurring entirely. The good news is that the marks will be less noticeable after pregnancy, when they'll probably fade to a more normal skin color.

10 Weeks Pregnant posted on 08/17/2007
Well, I am now 10 weeks pregnant... Here's the update 10 weeks pregnant At this point of your pregnancy, the crown-to-rump length of your developing baby is 1.25 to 1.68 inches. It is now easier to tell how much the baby weighs since he is beginning to put on some weight. Your baby weighs approximately 5 grams and is the size of a small plum! The baby has grown an incredible amount during these past few weeks, but you still aren't showing too much yet. This week is somewhat of a landmark for your developing baby. By now, your baby's complete body plan is laid down. Your baby will continue to develop and grow for the remainder of the pregnancy. The fingers and toes have separated and the tail has disappeared now. Your baby has taste and tooth buds at this point, which will continue to develop. The brain will continue to grow at an amazing rate and nearly a quarter of a million new neurons are produced every minute! The embryonic heart is completely developed. External genitalia are not apparent until next week, but a Male's testes will already be producing testosterone. Because you have high hormone levels at this time, you may notice an abundance of emotional and physical effects. Most pregnant women find themselves getting distressed easily and have frequent mood swings. Common physical changes include the beginning of real weight gain, potential softening of the gums and slightly swollen thyroid glands. Common emotional changes include feelings of unattractiveness, feelings of inadequacy and concerns about what the future holds. Some women are not excited about their pregnancy at first and question the condition. It is not uncommon to get upset easily, cry at the slightest things, feel moody or drift on daydreams. You may have gained a little weight already. Average weight gain during pregnancy is about 28lbs(13kgs), but most of that is gained in the second and third trimester.

Dr. Appointment posted on 08/10/2007
I can't believe it's taken me this long to update this! I'm so sorry!
Our first doctors appointment went very well. They had to do some blood work on me, which i wasn't so thrilled about, seeing as i am terrified of needles. Oh well though, something I'm going to have to get used to! This appointment was basically to get me and Nate's medical history, as well as our family history. They gave us a whole bunch of information, ranging from proper foods for me to be eating, to the different classes that are available for us. Nate got himself pretty involved with asking questions too. It was nice!
We have our next appointment set up for Tuesday, August 28th. This appointment won't be so 'fun' for me, as this is the one where they have to run all the tests and crap, and I'm sure not looking forward to that! But I think Nate and I are both really looking forward to one thing about it... We'll get to hear our baby's heartbeat! I know I'm really excited about that!

We have our first doctors appointment tomorrow. I'm excited, but also kind of nervous. I'm just really glad that Nate is going to be there with me! I know it will be easier with him there by my side! I'll have to make sure to put an update on here after my apointment is over. I'm now 9 weeks pregnant. Here's for the update: 9 Weeks Pregnant Your baby now is about the size of a medium green olive. The crow-to-rump length is 22 to 30 mm and the baby weighs 0.12 ounces. Although your body shape will not yet reveal that you are pregnant, your doctor would be able to notice an enlarged uterus. The hCG hormone is at its peak and you might notice more changes. Your skin may become smoother and a bit plumper, but you might also get an outbreak of pimples. Your hair may become less oily, or more. You might also notice some vaginal discharge, which is usually not a cause for concern. Although the baby is still very small, it is beginning to look more like a human being. Your baby's back is straightening out and the tail is shrinking. In proportion to the rest of his body, the head is large and remains curved forwards onto the chest. The head is erect and the neck is developing well. Even though your baby's eyes are well developed, they are covered by a membrane lid. The eyes will not begin to open and close for quite some time still. Your baby will begin to make tiny movements as the muscles start to develop. You will not be able to feel any of these early movements, but you might be able to see them during an ultrasound. The arms and hands are progressing faster than the legs and feet at this point. By this time of your baby's development, the hands have defined finger ridges and the tissue between them will die off to leave separate fingers. It is impossible to distinguish a male from a female at this time because external genitalia look very similar at this point. Your blood system will change during pregnancy and blood volume will increase by 50%. The increase in blood is important to meet the demands of your gowing uterus. Blood volumes will begin to increase during the first trimester and will continue to rise throughout the entire pregnancy. The increase in plasma can cause anemia, which will cause you to feel tired or weak. In week 9 (7 weeks after conception) the fingers are clearly visible.

8 Weeks posted on 07/30/2007
Well, here we are, now at 8 weeks pregnant. Today was probably the worst day i've had so far. I've been throwing up all day long. My back is stinkin killing me. By boobs hurt like crazy. This is nuts!!! Anyways... Here's the internets say on what's going on with me and baby this week... 8 Weeks Pregnant How Your Baby Is GrowingYour baby is now 5/8 of an inch long, about the size of a kidney bean. She's constantly moving and shifting, although you won't be able to feel these womb wiggles for several weeks yet. Her embryonic tail is disappearing, and her eyelids practically cover her eyes. Still slightly webbed, her fingers and toes are growing longer. Her arms have lengthened, too, and her hands are now flexed at the wrist and meet over her heart. Her knee joints have formed, and her feet may be long enough to meet in front of her body. With her trunk straightening out, her head is more erect. Breathing tubes extend from her throat to the branches of her developing lungs. The nerve cells in her brain are also branching out to connect with one another, forming primitive neural pathways. Though you may be daydreaming about your baby as one gender or another, the external genitals still haven't developed enough to reveal whether you're having a boy or a girl.

Well, we've now known for over a week. Let me tell you, it's hard to believe that just a week ago, I didnt know about this baby. I've already been through so many changes, mentally and physically, in this past week. It was a pretty tough morning for me today. Baby was kicking my butt today! The past few days have went alright, as far as the morning sickness goes. But man, today, I think made up for the past 2 days of feeling fine. It sure is difficult to force myself to go into work in the morning, and on time, when i'm throwing up non-stop. You know it's bad when you have to stop along-side the highway on your way to work, to throw up. Yucky! What a bad start to the morning! I'm going to keep doing my weekly updates on the baby, and changes going on, and that type of stuff. But i'm also going to try to update more frequently, just about how my day was, and stuff like that.
